Fantasy Island: A Grand Day Out with the Grandkids (and Grandparents!)
With childcare costs increasing and parents going back to full-time work, it often falls to the older generations to take care of the little ones. It’s a delightful time to be a grandparent, but sometimes the choices can be rather limited when it comes to days out in Lincolnshire.
The last place you might think to visit as an older person with small grandkids and toddlers would be a holiday park with loads of scary rollercoasters. But though Fantasy Island has one of the greatest funfairs in England, it also has some of the best accessible things to do in Skegness and the surrounding area.
Mobility
We know that accessibility is at the forefront of your mind if you are a grandparent with little ones. The ‘Little Explorer’ tickets are for the youngest in the family and are completely free for those under 90cm, so you won’t be paying for rides they can’t go on.
If you would prefer to watch or take photographs of the grandkids as they enjoy themselves, we also offer ‘Non-Rider’ tickets for just £5! We know how special this time is, so please do get in contact if you have got accessibility needs and we’ll advise on what events and attractions are best suited to you.
Rides and Attractions
You’ll be pleased to find that we offer some lovely rides for both toddlers and seniors. You can enjoy many relaxed and delightful rides and attractions in our park, including the magical Seaquarium or laid back round of mini-golf. Whatever pace suits you, you’ll find the attraction to suit your needs.
Shopping at Ingoldmells Market
We boast the largest seven-day market in Europe! So, when you’ve taken in the sights and sounds of the funfair take a stroll through the Ingoldmells Market. You might pick up a bargain on toys, home furnishings, gifts or clothes or even take part in some of the interactive experiences on offer! The market is consistently rated as one of the things to do in Skegness that you simply cannot miss!
Eating Out
At the end of a busy day with the grandkids, there is nothing more enjoyable than having a sit-down meal at one of our great restaurants. We’ve got over 40 eateries to choose from representing the finest cuisine from all across the world. Whether its Italian, Jamaican or traditional fish and chips, we’ve got something for every palette.
